Welcome to The General Federation of Women's Clubs of South Carolina (GFWC-SC). Founded in 1898, we are a member of GFWC, an international organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. As one of the oldest nonpartisan and nondenominational women’s service organizations in the world, GFWC unites diverse women in a single goal to improve the lives of others.

Thoughts on Service

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of South Carolina points with pride to more than 1,400 members in 56 clubs around the state who work in six areas of emphasis - Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach and Public Issues. Together, SC club members initiate projects which support participation in the arts, promote education, preserve natural resources, stress good citizenship, encourage healthy lifestyles, contribute to world peace and international understanding, and resolve problems unique to their communities.
