Michele Hood - Advisor

Michele Hood has been a member of GFWC since 2003 when she started with the Charleston Junior Woman’s Club. She held several positions with the club, including Home Life Chair. She was very active in projects the club including Habitat for Humanity and Pet Helpers. She also helped out at the Charleston Animal Society and Crisis Ministry (a homeless shelter in Charleston) during her own time.
In 2010, Michele started the GFWC Lowcountry Junior Woman’s Club in Mt Pleasant in order to get women out in the community who wanted to do more hands on volunteer work. While with this club, she was president and spearheaded many projects, including volunteering for a Feline rescue , Crisis Ministry, and giving talks and presentations to teens about Teen Dating Violence. She continues these projects currently.

Michele was Director of Junior Clubs for South Carolina 2010-2012.

Michele has always been dedicated to GFWC since her first year with the Charleston Juniors. She has attended many meetings and was active on the Board of GFWC-SC as the president’s special assistant (2014-2016) and chair for the GFWC Signature Project. She is continuously looking for projects to get involved in and fundraisers to help with in the areas of animals and domestic violence.
