Peggy Opitz - Special Assistant to the President

Peggy Opitz

Margaret (Peggy) Opitz is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is a retired nurse administrator, educator, and researcher. Her previous positon was Nursing Director and Professor at University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Fayetteville State University, a consortium arrangement. She had a consulting business in establishing, evaluating, and working with various levels of nursing and allied health programs. She was a federal research and training grant reviewer for the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) for the Office of Rural Health and the Office of Minority Health. She is married to Armand and they have three daughters and three grandchildren. They live in the North Myrtle Beach area.

Peggy joined the North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club in 2012. She has served as Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee for four years and as Recording Secretary for two years. In 2018, she received the order of the Jessamine, GFWC-SC. She is serving as Assistant to GFWC-SC State President, Juliet Casper 2018-2020.
