Carrie Zimmerman - Director of Junior Clubs

Carrie Zimmerman, Director of Junior Clubs

My name is Carrie Zimmerman and I have been a GFWC-SC member for 11 years.  I am a current member of the Seneca Junior Woman’s Club.  I am married to my husband Jason of 19 years and have two children, Zoe 16 and Gavin 9.  We live in the Upstate of SC in Tamassee, SC.

I have lived in SC for 20 years and have worked for the State of SC in the human service field for 18 years.  I currently work for Continuum of Care, a division of The Department of Administration as a Wrap Facilitator.

Volunteering is something I have done most of my life.  When I moved to SC volunteerism was a way for me to meet new people and make new friends.  My volunteerism in SC has included Angel’s Volunteer, church children's activities, school events, recreation Coach for over 11 years, Past Executive Board member of Christmas W/Hero and past Board member of the Walhalla Civic Auditorium.

My history with GFWC-SC started when friend, Sandra Mattox, a founding member of WJWC, brought me to a meeting of WJWC in 2007 and I was hooked.   After the first year I was nominated to the executive committee as Secretary and have been on the executive committee ever since and have filled position of Treasurer, 2nd VP, 1st VP, and became President of WJWC in 2011 for 2 years.   I was appointed GFWC-SC NW District President by Past President, JoAnn Bolchez in 2013.  I was re-elected by my NW District peers to this position for the 2014-2016 term.
I have attended and volunteered in GFWC-SC conventions since 2008, and went to Southern Region in 2014.  In 2015, I was Co-Chairman of the 2015 GFWC-SC Convention in Greeville along with Norma England from North Central District.   I was selected as the 2015 L.E.A.D.S candidate and attended part of the 2015 International GFWC convention in Memphis, TN.

I feel I am able to Lead our Junior and Juniorette Clubs well in the 2018-2020 term.  Special Olympics and intellectual disabilities will be my special project and I hope that we build our Junior and Juniorette membership too.  I support and uphold our motto’s of "Living the Volunteer Spirit" and “Unity in Diversity”.

My theme is “Everyone has a SUPERhero inside waiting to be discovered.”- GFWC-SC Juniors
